In Acts 4:13 Peter and John stood before the council in Jerusalem facing prosecution for preaching of the resurrection of the dead through Jesus.
"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus."Acts 4:13 (KJV)
God uses even the foolish things (such as unlearned and ignorant men who have been with Jesus) to confound the wise (say a religious council). (cf. 1 Cor. 1:18-31)
